The Noble County Community Foundation, a Kendallville Area Chamber member, invited us to sail with them at their Annual Meeting held Wednesday afternoon.The event was attended by over 100 community leaders, scholarship recipients, NCCF board members, donors, and friends of the community.
Executive Director Linda Speakman-Yerick shared a heartwarming and inspirational story about a former lilly scholar recipient who made a donation to the Foundation while living in Saudi Arabia. He said "you can't pay it back but you can pay it forward." How true! We all should strive to do the same. She also spoke about the 'tsunami' last year brought (which all of us would agree) and how they weathered those challenges to become a stronger organization.
According to Linda, the NCCF has "recovered from the financial tsunami!" That's Wonderful News!!
