Now is Your Chance to Show Off Your Citizenship Skills in

the National Civics Bee!

About the Civics Bee


National Civics Bee competitions are promoted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. At least 1.000 local middle school students will participate in a first-round essay competition. Judges will select 20 to go to the final round: a live quiz event testing civics knowledge. Winners will be recognized in their communities and receive prizes.

How to Enter


Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student residing in Indiana with an idea about using civics to improve their community may review the rules and submit an essay application on the the sign up page, red button below.

The application opens November 13, 2023, and closes on January 22, 2024.

WHY CIVICS?

The Kendallville Area Chamber of Commerce is participating in the National Civics Bee because informed and active citizens make for a strong country, economy, and workforce, and our continued prosperity depends on the strength of all three. Through the Bee, we promote more excellent civic knowledge in Indiana and celebrate our civic pride.
